Friend of the Poor 5k
The Friend of the Poor 5k is the fourth annual charity run and walk held on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at West High School, 3300 Sutherland Ave, Knoxville TN 37919. The event is a timed and qualifying race that includes multiple distance options.

The event is hosted by the Philoptochos Society of St. George Greek Orthodox Church. Locally Philoptochos supports charities including FISH Hospitality Pantries, InterFaith Health Clinic, and Mobile Meals. Proceeds from the event support assistance for people who are poor, sick, elderly, or otherwise in need.
Participants who register after March 1, 2026 are not guaranteed a race t-shirt. A limited number of extra t-shirts will be available on race day and will be distributed on a first come first served basis. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
