Event overview
The Fresno Urban Run takes place on Sunday, May 17, 2026. The event starts inside Chukchansi Park and is organized as both an individual and a team competition. All donations support the Alisa Ann Ruch Burn Foundation. The race is part of the California Classic Runner of the Year Series and is listed as a 20 point race.
Course and format
The overall length is approximately 3 miles. The course includes climbing every step from the bottom to the top of the stadium, running up a 6-story circular parking garage and down an adjacent 6-story garage, then a half-mile run down Fulton Street to Tuolumne Overpass (called Urban Hill). The final segment is a climb of 220 stairs to the top of the 10-story Grand Tower, where the timing sensor stops the clock. After the finish, participants descend by elevator to a street-level Celebration Beer Garden.
Teams can be entered in four categories: Firefighters, Law Enforcement, Gyms/Health Clubs, and Open. Teams may have any number of members; the top three finishers in each team are scored for the team, and every participant receives an individual score.
