Freeze Your Gizzard 5K and 1 Mile - Ida Lee Park, Leesburg
The Town of Leesburg presents the 24th running of Freeze Your Gizzard on Saturday, November 21, 2026 at Ida Lee Park, 60 Ida Lee Drive NW, Leesburg, VA. The event features a cross-country 5K and a one mile fun run on park grounds.

The 5K follows a cross-country style course through Ida Lee Park with several steep hills. The race starts and finishes at the gazebo on park grounds. Due to uneven terrain, dogs, wagons, and baby strollers are not allowed on the course. Runners are encouraged to bring their own water bottle.
Registration pricing for the 5K varies by date: $24 through August 31; $30 September 1 through November 7; $35 November 8 through November 18; $40 November 19 through November 21. The one mile fun run is $20 through November 18 and $25 November 19 through November 21. All pre-registered 5K entrants are guaranteed a long sleeve performance shirt. One mile participants receive a commemorative medal at the finish.
Packet pick up is at the Ida Lee Park Recreation Center: Thursday, November 19, 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM; the day before the race 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM; and race day packet pick up in the field from 7:30 AM to 9:30 AM.
Awards will be given to the top three overall male and female finishers and the top three male and female finishers in each age group: 14 and under, 15 - 19, 20 - 29, 30 - 39, 40 - 49, 50 - 59, 60 - 69, 70 and over.
Parking for the event is in the front grass field of Ida Lee Park and is accessed from North King Street. Parking is not available at the recreation center.
Participants are asked to bring two or more canned food items for Loudoun Hunger Relief. Monetary donations are accepted and Loudoun Hunger Relief will host the post-race celebration with refreshments and door prizes; winners must be present to claim prizes.
