Freeze Yer Gizzard Blizzard Run
The Freeze Yer Gizzard Blizzard Run is a winter road race held during the Icebox Days festival in International Falls, Minnesota. The event takes place on a Saturday in January and is part of a larger community celebration organized by the International Falls Area Chamber of Commerce with support from local organizations, businesses, sponsors, and volunteers.
The race draws participants from the local area and from farther away, including international competitors. Distances offered include:
- 5K
- 10K
Participants may enter either distance or both. Race registration and check in take place at the Backus Community Center in International Falls, with bib pickup available the day before and the morning of the race. A commemorative participation medal is included with registration. Race fees no longer include a t shirt, but shirts and other merchandise are available for separate purchase.
Volunteers and community groups are involved in on site registration, assistance, and event support. A post race reception follows the event and an awards ceremony is held after the races. Organizers recommend planning lodging early because of other events in the area at the same time. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
