Independence Day 5K at Friedman Park, Newburgh IN
This event is a community 5K Run/Walk held at Friedman Park, 2700 Park Blvd., Newburgh, IN 47630. The course is an out-and-back 5K that starts and finishes at the West Pavilion. Distance is 5K (3.1 miles).
Entry fees are tiered: $30 until February 28, $35 until June 15, and $40 through race day. There is a $5 deduction for a medal only option. Veterans and active duty participants save $5 with the code JULY4. Groups of four or more are eligible for a discount code.
Shirt and bib pick up and late registration are scheduled the day before at Ultimate Fit Shoes. Race day check in and late registration occur at Friedman Park. All sales are final and refunds are not offered unless prior arrangements are made. Unless arrangements are made in advance, medals and shirts will not be held after the event.
Awards are given to Overall Male and Female and Runner Up Male and Female. Age group awards go to the top four males and top four females in these divisions: 13 and under; 14-19; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; 70-79; 80 and over.
Timing services are provided by To the Finish Timing. The event proceeds rain or shine; in the case of threatening weather the event may be delayed for safety. Oliver's Heroes Retired K9 Association will receive at least $2 per entry. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
