2026 Freedom Run 5K/10K - Statesboro, GA
The Freedom Run 5K/10K is hosted annually by Georgia Southern University Army ROTC as the Eagle Battalion's primary fundraiser to support additional educational and training opportunities for cadets. A portion of this year's proceeds will benefit a memorial ROTC scholarship.
Event distances and options include:
- Adult 5K Run/Walk
- Child 5K Run/Walk (12 and under)
- Adult 5K Ruck (13 and older)
- Adult 10K Run
- Child 10K Run (12 and under)
- Virtual 5K Run/Walk
- Virtual 5K Ruck
- Virtual 10K Run
The 5K run/walk allows participants to walk. The 10K run requires at least a jogging pace and does not allow walkers. The 5K ruck division is for ages 13 and older and requires participants to use their own weighted rucksack, backpack, or vest and maintain minimum weights at all times. Minimum weights will be enforced with a weigh in before and after the race; female minimum 30 lbs, male minimum 40 lbs.
Walk up registration will be held Friday April 24 and Saturday April 25 at the Military Science ROTC Building. The event location is 4526 Old Register Rd, Statesboro, GA, with participant parking available in Lot 42 across from the Military Science ROTC Building.
Well behaved dogs are allowed on a leash no longer than 6 feet; retractable leashes are not permitted and owners must pick up after their dogs. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
