Freedom Ride Animal Rescue 5K Fun Run & 1 Mile Walk & Wag
This event is the 3rd annual community run and walk held at First Christian Church, 514 N Sunny Ln, Monmouth, IL 61462. The event is pet friendly; well-behaved pets on leashes may participate. Race packets are available for pick up on race day after 8 am. On-site restrooms will be available. Children 6 years old and under may join the 1 mile walk free when accompanied by a registered adult.

- 3.1 miles Virtual 5K
Registration opens on August 1, 2026. In-person registration closes October 16, 2026; virtual registration remains available through October 31, 2026. Registration fees noted in the event materials include a $25 fee for the 5K and a $20 fee for the 1 mile walk; virtual 5K registration is listed at $25. Registering before October 15, 2026 guarantees a race t-shirt on race day; registrants can also opt to have a t-shirt shipped or to donate the t-shirt cost back to the rescue. Virtual participants may submit their finish time during the window from September 30 through October 30, 2026, with a submission deadline on October 30.
Awards and extras include medals for 1st through 3rd place finishers in 5K divisions (Men, Women, and 17 & Under), a prize for the first dog across the finish line, a medal for the top virtual 5K finisher, and a costume contest after the 1 mile event in three categories: dogs, kids, and themed with your dog.
