About the race
North Downs Ridge 50k Ultra, organized by Freedom Racing, runs along the North Downs Way from Denbies Wine Estate near Dorking to Guildford and back, incorporating a Surrey Wildlife Trust reserve at Norbury Park. The 50-kilometer trail ultramarathon features about 2,986 feet of ascent, fully signed course, and four aid/checkpoint stations with food and drinks. The route highlights ridgeline views over the Surrey Hills, passing Newlands Corner, Albury Downs, and St Martha’s Church before looping to Norbury Park and returning to Denbies.
It’s suitable for first-time ultras and seasoned runners, offers eco medals and optional tree-planting, and is UTMB index-qualifying. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
