Event overview

The North Downs Ridge 50k is a trail ultramarathon organised by Freedom Racing on Sunday 22 February 2026. The race distance is 50k with a total ascent of 2986 ft. The event has a 10-hour time limit and qualifies towards the UTMB runner performance index. Online entry is required; there are no entries on the day. Minimum age to enter is 18 years. A mandatory kit list applies and event medical cover and a sweeper runner are provided. Dogs are not permitted.

Route and logistics

The race is based at Denbies Wine Estate near Dorking and follows the North Downs Way west to the edge of Guildford, passing Newlands Corner, Albury Downs and St Martha’s Church, then retraces toward Denbies. Near Denbies the route leaves the North Downs Way to run through Westhumble and a loop of Surrey Wildlife Trust Norbury Park woodland before returning to Denbies. The course is fully signed and supported with four aid stations offering food and drink at approximately 8, 13, 18 and 24 miles. Parking is usually at Dorking Railway Station car park, about a 10-minute walk to the race base; parking at Denbies may be used if conditions allow.
