Freedom Old Home Week 5K
The Freedom Old Home Week 5K is a road race and kids fun run held during Freedom Old Home Week on Saturday, August 1, 2026. The event starts and finishes at Freedom Elementary School, 40 Loon Lake Road, and is open to runners and walkers of all ages.
The registered course is a certified 3.1 mile route that begins in front of the school, turns left onto Village Road with a short rolling hill, then turns left onto Freedom Point Road where a dirt and gravel section follows. The course weaves to Round Pond Road and makes a final left onto Loon Lake Road to return to the school. Overall the route runs on mostly paved, quiet country roads with some gentle hills.
Registration options include a prepaid discount and race day entry. Prepaid registration is discounted to $20 if completed by July 4; a later prepaid rate of $25 applies from July 5 through July 31, 2026; race day registration is $30. All registered participants receive a $10 voucher for the Dueling Chefs food truck. Freedom Old Home Week sponsors with free entry coupons may register on race day with a coupon.
The course is timed by Granite State Race Services and is USATF certified. A waiver is required for participation; those 15 and younger must have a parent or guardian present, and anyone under 18 needs a parent or guardian to co-sign the waiver.
