Event Overview
The Clifton Park Freedom Mile takes place on July 4th in Clifton Park, New York. This annual event is held immediately before the town's Independence Day parade. The point to point course starts at the Shen campus entrance on Route 146, turns left onto Vischer Ferry Road, and concludes at the Clifton Park Common.
Participants can choose between two primary options:
- 1 Mile
- Route Rooter
The 1 Mile event is a timed race where awards are presented across various age categories, including youth divisions for those aged 1-10 and 11-14, as well as adult brackets spanning from 15 to over 60 years old. The first 150 registered participants are guaranteed a running hat as a giveaway.
The Route Rooter option is designed for community members who wish to support the runners from the sidelines. The first 75 individuals to register for this category receive a cowbell to use along the parade route to cheer for participants.
The event is supported by the Town of Clifton Park and proceeds benefit the Shenendehowa cross country and track and field programs. Registration options include individual entries and discounted family rates for households of four or five people. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
