Event overview
The 2026 Freedom Fighters race takes place on June 7, 2026 at Prince William Forest Park in Triangle, VA. The event offers races at the following distances:
- 5k
- 10k
- Half marathon
Points from the races count toward the Year-Long 5k, 10k, Endurance, Back of the Pack, and Spring series. A virtual run option is available. The event benefits Semper Fi & America’s Fund.
Course and format
The courses use a mix of paved roads and trails. The 5k is a trail run, the 10k is about 50% trail and 50% pavement, and the half marathon is mostly pavement (about 60%). The half marathon has a completion time limit of 3:15. Water stations are placed along each course: eight on the half at approximate mile markers 1.55, 3.3, 4.55, 5.6, 8, 10, 11 and 11.65; three on the 10k at about 1.55, 3.1 and 4.65; and one on the 5k at about 1.55. Restrooms are near the Visitor Center.
Registration, kit and results
Registration fees include park entrance and vary by distance, with reduced rates available until May 15 and a $5 increase on race morning. T-shirts are guaranteed for runners registered before May 27. Participants receive a finisher’s medal, a technical event shirt, and chip timing. Live results will be posted on Athlinks and final results with series points are posted the Monday after the race. Packet pickup is available at the event; there is no on-site race registration.
