Freedom Festival Elkhorn 5K Race
The Freedom Festival Elkhorn 5K is a community 5 kilometer run and walk held in Afton, Wyoming on July 3, 2026. The event starts and finishes at the World’s Largest Elkhorn Arch in downtown Afton and uses neighborhood streets on a course that is 100 percent paved. A virtual entry option is available and includes shipping for race swag.
Entry fees vary by registration date. Race T-shirts are available for purchase in women’s fit and unisex styles; ordering during registration by May 31, 2026, guarantees size. A separate Little Elk Kids Run has no entry fee; small donations to the beneficiary are appreciated and will be collected at the start.
Awards are presented for 1st overall male and female, 1st overall male and female masters age 40 and over, and 1st male and female in age divisions 19 and under, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, 70 to 79, 80 and over. An Adaptive Athlete category is open to hand cycles, wheelchairs, limb differences, vision impaired participants, and other mobility impairments.
Packet pick-up and onsite registration are scheduled the day before and the morning of the event. All registration is online; cellular and WiFi service in downtown Afton can be unpredictable. All race proceeds are donated to Amputee Blade Runners, a nonprofit that helps provide running prosthetics for amputees. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
