Andrews Freedom 5K
The Andrews Freedom 5K is a community run and walk held in Andrews, North Carolina. The course runs throughout the small mountain town and is open to racers, walkers, stroller users, and other participants. The event takes place at the Andrews Town Centre Shopping Center, 7 Wilson Street, Andrews, NC 28901.
Every participant receives a T shirt, and snacks and drinks are provided for attendees. Results and recognition include awards in four age brackets: under 18, 19 to 40, 40 to 60, and 60 and over, with separate men's and women's awards for each bracket. There are additional awards for the most patriotic participants. Proceeds from the event are split evenly between Andrews Trails and the Cherokee Clay Food Alliance. The run is scheduled as part of local Fourth of July activities, and runners are asked to remain for the rest of the town's Fourth of July celebrations.
