Frederick Running Festival

The Frederick Running Festival is a multi-event sports weekend located in Frederick, Maryland, near the suburbs of Washington, D.C. The event base is situated at the Frederick Fairgrounds, which serves as the finish line for all scheduled races. This festival provides a large-scale race environment while maintaining small-town characteristics, and offers off-site packet pick-up services in the Maryland suburbs for participant convenience.

The festival schedule is split across two days, offering a variety of distances and participation options for runners:

  • Half Marathon: A 13.1-mile course held on Sunday.
  • 2 Person Team Relay: A 13.1-mile relay race for two participants on Sunday.
  • Twilight 5K: A 3.1-mile evening race held on Saturday.
  • Kids Fun Run: Age-specific categories for children 7 and under and kids ages 8 to 12.
  • Nut Job Challenge: A combined entry for participants completing both the 5K and the Half Marathon.

In addition to the in-person races, virtual options are available for the Half Marathon and 5K distances. The event also facilitates charity registrations across multiple categories. All physical race activities are focused around the Frederick Fairgrounds at 797 E Patrick St. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
