Franconia Notch Half Marathon
The Franconia Notch Half Marathon is an annual half marathon held in Franconia, New Hampshire. The 2026 edition is scheduled for October 24, 2026. The course is a paved, rolling out-and-back route on the Franconia Notch recreational path and covers 13.1 miles.
The route runs alongside Echo Lake and Profile Lake and passes landmarks such as Cannon Mountain, Boise Rock, Lafayette Campground, the Basin, the Flume, and the Pemigewasset River. Aid stations are placed at approximately one-mile intervals and are stocked with water and Gatorade. The race is officially timed and is USATF sanctioned, so it could serve as a qualifier for other events.
Proceeds from the event support Adaptive Sports Partners and local adaptive sports programs in the North Country and the Northeast Kingdom. Every participant receives a finisher medal, and an event T-shirt is available to those registered by September 30, 2026. Prize money of $500 is listed for the top male and female overall finishers.
Accessibility and participant guidelines noted by the organizer include available parking near Peabody Lodge at Cannon Mountain with designated accessible parking, a recommendation against pets, discouraged use of headphones, and allowance for walkers and runners with strollers who are asked to start toward the back of the field. Cell phone service in Franconia Notch is minimal. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
