Event Information
The FoxWall Run for the Hill of It is a 1-mile competitive run and a family fun walk. The main feature is a run up Center Avenue, described as one of the steepest hills in Pittsburgh, located in the heart of Aspinwall.
Course Details
The course starts at the Aspinwall Borough Building on the 200 block of Commercial Avenue. Participants run to the top of Center Avenue, then circle back via Guyasuta Lane and 11th Street before rejoining Center Avenue. The finish line is at Fireman’s Memorial Park, accessed via West 9th Street.
Registration and Entry
Registration includes three events:
- Run: A timed 1-mile race.
- Walk: A family fun walk.
- Meet You In The Park After: A separate registration option.
A family pricing option is available for three or more individuals living in the same household. Children under 2 do not need to register.
Post-Race Activities
After the race, there is a family-friendly atmosphere at the finish area in Fireman’s Memorial Park. The registration ticket includes a race shirt and access to complimentary food trucks, a balloon artist, face painting, a DJ, an inflatable obstacle course and slide, and mini amusement rides.
Other Information
Packet pickup is scheduled for Friday, April 24th, from 3:30 PM to 6:00 PM at the Aspinwall Volunteer Fire Department on the 200 block of 1st Street. A race shirt is guaranteed for participants who register before April 12th. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
