Fox Firecracker 5K
The Fox Firecracker 5K takes place annually on July 4 in Kaukauna, Wisconsin. This event serves as a central part of the local Independence Day celebrations, featuring courses that navigate through the streets of downtown Kaukauna. Participants pass notable local landmarks, including the Kaukauna Library and the Fox River.
The event offers several participation options:
- 5K Run/Walk
- Kids 1/4 mi run (Untimed)
- Virtual 5K
The 5K Run/Walk is open to both runners and walkers. For younger athletes, the Kids 1/4 mi run is available specifically for children aged 1 to 8. Those who cannot attend the physical event in Kaukauna can participate in the Virtual 5K, which allows runners to submit their times online between July 4 and July 8.
Finishers in the 5K categories receive a commemorative medal and an American flag. The event grounds feature a celebration area with music provided by the UW-Madison Marching Band and refreshments such as apple pie. All participants must complete their registration online before arriving at the site to pick up their race bibs. The event is centered at 100 Crooks Avenue.
