Event overview
The 48th Annual Springfield's Big Fourth 5K is scheduled for Saturday, July 4, 2026, in downtown Springfield, Massachusetts. The race is organized by the Greater Springfield Harriers and starts and finishes at the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, 1000 W Columbus Ave, Springfield, MA 01105. The course is a flat out-and-back route on road and the Springfield River Walk.
Distances and entry
- 5K - Adult: open to ages 18 - 99, price $25.
- 5K - Student (17 & Under): open to ages 1 - 17, price $20.
Registration and race day
Registration for both events opens January 16, 2026 (adult and student registration times differ). Online registration closes Wednesday, July 3 at 6:00 PM. There is no early shirt and bib pickup at Fast Feet stores this year. Day-of-race pickup and late registration begin on race morning.
