Four on the Fourth
The Four on the Fourth is a 4 mile running event held in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. This race serves as the first installment of the Le Tour de Carrboro race series. The course is USATF certified and begins at McDougle Middle School. Participants run through the neighborhoods of Carrboro before finishing on the school track.
The event features water stations located at the second and third miles. While baby strollers and joggers are permitted at the back of the starting group, pets are not allowed on the course. Walkers are also welcome to participate. Following the main event, the "Little Firecracker" races are available for children aged 2-10, featuring three distinct distances based on age:
- 50 meters for ages 2-3
- 100 meters for ages 4-5
- 200 meters for ages 6-10
Professional timing is provided for the main race. Awards include unique handmade pottery and locally roasted coffee for overall winners and various age groups. Categories for awards span from age 9 and under up to 80 plus, including specific classifications for Masters, Athena, and Clydesdale participants.
