Event Details
The event takes place on Saturday, October 31, 2026 in Trussville, Alabama. There are two event formats available.
- Foundations 4 Hope 5K
- Jerry Can 5K Relay
Both events use chip timing. The race area is at the Trussville Entertainment District at 101 Beech Street, where the course starts and ends.
The Jerry Can 5K Relay is a three-person team event. Teams can be men's or women's. Each team is provided with a Jerry can. For men's teams, the can is filled with 5 gallons (42 pounds) of water, and for women's teams, it is filled with 3 gallons (25 pounds). Teams must form their own three-person group. The can may be carried in any position but without straps or modifications. The team's official finish time is recorded when the last team member crosses the line.
The event aims to raise funds for Christian mission work. Proceeds from this year's event will support efforts through local churches in East Africa, focusing on providing leadership, churches, clean water, and medicine. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
