Event Overview
The Fort Hunt Park 10k is a road running event held at Fort Hunt Park in Alexandria, Virginia. Participants run a 10 km distance. A 5k distance is also offered. The course is described as a flat, paved loop on park roads with no major elevation gain. The 10k route consists of five laps.
Registration & Fees
Standard registration fees apply, with an increase for on-the-day registration. Registration is online only; there is no on-site registration on the day of the event. Participants receive a finisher's medal, a technical event shirt, and chip timing. A shirt is guaranteed for registrations before a specified date in early October.
Event Features
The event includes a virtual run option. Results are posted live online, and runner tracking via SMS is available. Awards are given to the top three overall men and women, as well as to the first and second place finishers in various age categories. A "Back of the Pack" series is integrated, aimed at participants with slower paces.
Venue & Logistics
The event starts and ends at Fort Hunt Park. Packet pickup is available on-site before the race. Parking is available at the park. Restroom facilities are on-site. Water stations are provided on the course, with Gatorade at some stations.
Charity Partner
The event is run in partnership with the John P. Mayhugh Foundation, a nonprofit organization focused on brain health, post-traumatic stress, traumatic brain injury, and addiction recovery.
