2026 Fort Hunt Park 5k & 10k

The event takes place on October 18 at Fort Hunt Park in Alexandria, VA (8999 Fort Hunt Rd). It includes both in-person and virtual options. Points from this event count toward the Year-Long 5k, 10k, Back of the Pack Series, and the Fall Series. Walkers and strollers are welcome.

  • 10k - 5 laps

Course and race services

The course is a paved loop on park roads with no major elevation gains. Water stations are located at the beginning and end of every lap; Gatorade will be available at some stations. Restroom facilities are on site. The event is chip timed. Registered participants receive a finisher’s medal and a technical (drifit) event shirt. T-shirts are guaranteed for those registered before October 7; additional shirts will be available after that on a first-come, first-served basis.

Registration, awards, and results

Early registration fees through September 30 are listed as $30 for the 5k and $45 for the 10k. Fees increase after September 30, and an additional $5 increase applies on race morning. There is no on-site race registration. Awards are given to the top three men and women overall and to 1st and 2nd place in age groups from 19&Under through 70+. Top three overall finishers are not eligible to also win age-group awards. Live results will be posted online and final results with series points are posted after the event.

Charity partnership

The event partners with the John P. Mayhugh Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit established in February 2017 that works to address barriers to recovery and improve outcomes for people affected by post-traumatic stress, traumatic brain injury, and addiction.
