Fort Gordon Marine Mud Challenge
The Fort Gordon Marine Mud Challenge takes place on September 12, 2026, at Fort Gordon, GA (19th St & Barnes Ave, 30905). The event features a 4 mile off-road course with more than 30 obstacles, a stream crossing, hills and mud. All competitors must complete every obstacle. Every runner will be timed using electronic timing. Competitive categories are reserved for participants who can run the entire course and complete every obstacle. Registration is individual. Only the first 800 registrations will receive an event shirt.
Access, facilities and requirements
Participants must be at least 13 years old; the age requirement can be waived with parent or guardian approval. Gate 6 is the only gate available to people without DoD ID cards. Non-DoD pass holders must register for a visitor pass at least 24 hours in advance. All vehicle occupants over age 16 must show valid picture ID at Fort Gordon gates, and entrants should allow at least 30 minutes for base entry due to security procedures. Free parking is available near the race start. Wash down and changing facilities will be provided. The U.S. Army will not provide insurance and will not be held responsible for damage, loss, or injury. Water will be available during and after the event. Volunteers are needed for event support. Participants are advised to wear old clothes and shoes or boots and to bring a change of clothes. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
