Fort Gordon Marine Mud Challenge : Event overview
The Fort Gordon Marine Mud Challenge takes place on September 12, 2026, at Fort Gordon, GA 30905. The event uses electronic timing for every runner. Only the first 800 registrants receive an event shirt. Volunteers are needed to help with parking, water stations, and other tasks; a coordinator will contact volunteers with details.
Course, rules and logistics
The course is approximately 4 miles and is off-road with more than 30 obstacles, a stream crossing, hills, and mud. Competitors must complete all obstacles; competitive categories are reserved for athletes who intend to run the entire course and complete every obstacle. Participants must be at least 13 years old, though that age requirement can be waived with parent or guardian approval.
Wash-down and changing facilities will be available. Water will be provided during and after the event. Free parking is available near the race start. Gate 6 is the only gate available to people without DOD ID cards. Non-DoD pass holders must preregister for a visitor pass at least 24 hours in advance for base access. All vehicle occupants over age 16 must show valid photo ID at Fort Gordon gates, and attendees should allow extra time for gate security procedures.
