Event overview

The Fort Gordon Marine Mud Challenge takes place on September 12, 2026, at Fort Gordon, GA (19th St & Barnes Ave, 30905). The course is 4 mile and is an off-road route with more than 30 obstacles, a stream crossing, hills and mud. All competitors must complete every obstacle. Every runner will be timed using electronic timing. Competitive categories are reserved for athletes who can run the entire course and complete every obstacle. Only the first 800 registrants will receive an event shirt.

Logistics and entry

Participants must register individually. Minimum age to enter is 13 years; this requirement can be waived with parent or guardian approval. Gate 6 is the only gate available to people without DOD ID cards. Non-DoD pass holders must register at least 24 hours in advance for a visitor pass. All vehicle occupants over age 16 must show valid picture ID at Fort Gordon gates, and entrants should allow at least 30 minutes for base security procedures. Free parking is available near the race start. Wash down and changing facilities will be provided. Water will be available during and after the event. Insurance will not be provided; the U.S. Army will not be held responsible for damage, loss, or injury. Volunteers are needed for tasks such as parking and passing out water.
