Fort Frenzy Ultra Festival
The Fort Frenzy Ultra Festival is an endurance running event held at Fort Loudon State Historic Park on Tellico Lake in Vonore, TN. The course uses a 3.65 mile loop that gains about 500 feet of elevation per loop. The trail runs around the lake; it is described as 100% runnable and 99% on trail, with the only paved section beginning at the pavilion. The event also offers a Tennessee Double Ultra Festival option that pairs this 24 hour race with another 24 hour event to produce locking medals and a TN Double Ultra Festival plaque.
Ruck division rules specify dry weight requirements and acceptable weight forms; removal or reduction of weight during the event is not authorized and an honor system applies. Pacers are allowed on the 12 hour and 24 hour races after six hours. Finisher awards are provided for endurance runners and top three male and female positions receive podium medals.
