Fort Frenzy Ultra Festival
Fort Frenzy Ultra Festival is an endurance running event held at Fort Loudon State Historic Park on Tellico Lake in Vonore, TN. The event uses a 3.65 mile loop that gains about 500 feet of elevation per loop, runs around the lake, and starts and finishes at the pavilion. The trail system is maintained and described as very runnable, with approximately 99 percent on trail and a short paved section near the pavilion.
Distances and formats include:
- 24 Hour endurance
- 12 Hour endurance
- 6 Hour endurance
- 3 Hour endurance
- 6 Hour Ruck, rucksacks only
The 6 Hour Ruck division requires rucksacks with specified dry weights: men 30 lb, women 20 lb, boys under 15 20 lb, girls under 15 10 lb. Weight must be clearly stamped plates; removal or reduction is not authorized and the event operates on an honor system. Ruck finishers receive a ruck patch.
Awards and logistics: finisher awards are provided for all endurance runners, with top three male and female finishers in each distance receiving medals noting place. A buckle is awarded for completing 100 miles. A $500 cash prize is offered to anyone who breaks the overall 24 hour course record of 113.15 miles, sponsored by UnRunning. Packet pickup is available the morning of the race and the evening prior. Registration deadlines and refund policy apply; refunds and deferrals are not offered.
