Forgotten Warrior Memorial 5k
The Forgotten Warrior Memorial 5K is scheduled for April 11, 2026 at the Forgotten Warrior Memorial in Channahon State Park, 25302 W Story St., Channahon, IL 60410. The event is open to runners, walkers and ruck participants and is dog friendly. Organizers suggest carpooling.
The route begins at Channahon State Park and heads south along the I&M canal. Signs will mark the course. Packet pick ups are offered prior to the event at the K9s for Veterans retail store, 631 E Boughton Rd Suite 155, Bolingbrook, IL 60440.
On course and on site there will be veterans resources, vendors and sponsors. Food trucks and a 50/50 drawing are planned. Registration includes a 5k entry and a chip timed race bib. The first 300 participants will receive a finisher medal. Awards are planned for overall finishers and for age category recognition pins. Event shirts include a space to write the name of the person being honored. There is an option to make a small donation to place a photo of a warrior on the course and on the event sign up page.
