Forgotten Florida
Forgotten Florida is a trail race weekend on January 30-31, 2027 in Christmas, Florida (3365 Taylor Creek Rd). The event offers multiple distances and routes that travel through Tosohatchee, Charles Bronson State Forest, Seminole Ranch and Little Big Econ State Forest.
Distances:
- 100 mile
- 50 mile
- 15 mile
- 8 mile
The 100 and 50 mile courses are point to point. The 50 mile course is the first 50 miles of the 100. Both the 100 and 50 begin in Oviedo and run back to Tosohatchee. These ultramarathon courses are about 80% trail with roughly 2 miles of pavement; the 100 includes a 25 mile out-and-back section in the final 50 miles with crew access. The 15 and 8 mile races take place on Sunday as single loops.
Trail character and wildlife include single-track through palm groves and pine flatwoods, with possible mud, grass and roots on the route. Birds such as herons, cranes, bald eagles and spoonbills are commonly present. The organizers note this is not a swamp run.
Entries registered by December 15 receive guaranteed swag: 100 mile hat and a buckle for finishers, 50 and 15 mile hat and finisher medal, and 8 mile hat and finisher medal; supply availability may vary. The event donates a portion of proceeds to the Florida Trail Association and schedules trail maintenance workdays. Cutoff times are 34 hours for 100 mile, 16 hours for 50 mile, 5 hours for 15 mile (with a 3.25 hour cutoff around mile 10 aid station), and 3 hours for 8 mile. Volunteer credits and transferable free entries are available for volunteers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
