Event Overview

The Forgotten Florida event is organized by Run Bum Races. It takes place on trails in state parks and forests near Christmas, Florida. The course explores areas like Tosohatchee, Charles Bronson State Forest, Seminole Ranch, and Little Big Econ State Forest.

Course Details

The event offers several distances run on different days:

  • 100 Miler
  • 50 Miler
  • 15 Miler
  • 8 Miler

The 100 and 50 mile races start together on Saturday and are point-to-point courses, beginning in Oviedo and finishing in Tosohatchee. Approximately 80% of these courses are on trail. The 15 and 8 mile races take place on Sunday and are single loops.

The route consists of rarely traveled single-track trails through palm groves and pine flatwoods. Runners may encounter mud, grass, and roots. The area is known for birdwatching, with many types of birds present.

Other Information

A portion of the race proceeds is donated to the Florida Trail Association for trail maintenance. The event is also part of the Florida Man Challenge, which requires completing the longest distance at three specific Florida races within one calendar year.

Finisher awards include a hat and buckle for the 100-mile distance, and hats and medals for the 50, 15, and 8 mile distances for those registered by a specified date. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
