About the race
The For the Love of Chocolate 5K is a Valentine’s Day road and trail event held at Southern Hills Farm in Clermont, Florida. The event is organized by Florida Running Company and includes a chip timed 5K on a trail/dirt course with one water station at about the 1.5 mile mark. Participants are asked to wear their bib on the front of their shirt.
Race participation includes a race t-shirt, a finisher medal for all 5K finishers, chip timing, and chocolate treats at the finish. Registration for 5K entrants also includes a strawberry donut from Southern Hills Farm. Orlando Health Kids Races offer a race medal and bib plus Valentine’s chocolate treats; kids distances vary by age and ability.
Packet pick up is available the day before the event at a Dream Finder Homes location and on race morning at Southern Hills Farm. Free parking is provided at Southern Hills Farm via Gate 4. Complimentary refreshments at the event include coffee from Foxtail Coffee and ice cream from Kelly’s. Photo opportunities and themed entertainment are planned along the course and in the post-race area.
Registration fees listed include a regular and a late rate for the 5K and a fee for the kids races; registration is limited and the event has sold out in recent years. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
