Foothills Tri Fest (Spindale, NC)
Foothills Tri Fest is a one-day recreation and wellness event hosted at Isothermal Community College, 286 ICC Loop Road, Spindale, NC. The festival brings together athletes, families, businesses, and community organizations for a day focused on health, fitness, and active living.
The program includes two Super Sprint triathlon formats and a 5K run/walk. The Dolphin Dash Super Sprint Triathlon is intended to be beginner friendly while allowing more experienced athletes to test speed. The Pod Relay Super Sprint Triathlon allows small teams or "pods" to divide the swim, bike, and run phases among members. Both triathlon formats are staged across the campus with spectator areas and feature an indoor pool swim, a short bike segment, and a short run. The Foothills 5K is a family friendly run/walk that uses trails, open space, and road sections on the campus.
Distances and formats include:
- 150 yard indoor pool swim (six laps)
- 3 to 4 mile bike ride
- 1+ mile run
- 5 kilometer run/walk
