Folsom Lake Point to Point Trail Half Marathon
The event is a point to point half marathon held on the Southside Trail around Folsom Lake. The course is primarily single track, with about 95% single track and 5% dirt road, and runs through oak trees and grassy sections with views of Folsom Lake, nearby foothills, and the Sierra Mountains.
The route begins at the Salmon Falls Boat Launch in El Dorado Hills and finishes at Brown's Ravine Hobie Point in Folsom. The course ascent is 1,683 ft and the course is marked with pink ribbons tied to clothespins, orange cones, signs, and gypsum on the ground. Yellow ribbons indicate the turn up into the New York Creek aid station. Race bibs are red numbers on a white background.
Aid and facilities are placed along the route. Toilets are available at the start and finish and at some aid stations. Aid stations and water stops include Old Salmon Falls at about mile 3.6, New York Creek at about mile 7.4, Planeta Way at about mile 11 where a toilet is nearby, and the finish at Brown's Ravine. Drop bags may be left at the start and will be taken to the finish or to aid stations as available.
Registration is offered online, by mail, and in person. The listed race fee for the half marathon is $100 for pre entry and $110 for in person entry, excluding processing fees. Active military and first responders receive a 15 percent discount. Entry fees are non refundable but may be transferred to a future Troy's California Trail Runs event minus processing fees if done at least 24 hours before the event.
