Folsom Lake Sweetwater Trail Run
The event takes place at Folsom Lake State Recreation Area, starting from the Salmon Falls Parking Lot in El Dorado Hills, CA. The course follows the South Side Trail and is mostly single track with some dirt road and small paved sections. Terrain includes gently rolling hills, oak tree cover, grassy areas, and views of the Sierra foothills. There is a creek crossing that can result in wet feet and slippery rocks.

Most distances use out and back routes with color ribbon markings and signed turnarounds. Multiple aid stations and water stops are placed along the longer courses; some aid stations are encountered twice on out and back routes. Toilets are available at the start and on course at aid stations. Runners may prepare drop bags to be delivered to aid stations; valuables are discouraged.
Entry fees vary by distance and are non refundable, though transfers to future events are permitted with prior notice. Dogs are not allowed on course. Parking requires a fee per vehicle, overflow lots are available, and carpooling is recommended. Troy’s California Trail Runs works with a travel partner to offer travel and accommodation packages.
