Folsom Lake Falcon Crest Trail Run
The event takes place on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at the Falcon Crest Parking Lot / Monte Vista Trailhead in El Dorado Hills, California. The race offers the following distances:
- 5K - ascent 453 ft
- 10K - ascent 942 ft
- 8 Mile - ascent 784 ft
- Half Marathon - ascent 1,493 ft
Courses run on single-track trails that parallel Folsom Lake. Surfaces include dirt and rocks with minimal pavement. The route features rolling hills with frequent ups and downs and a mix of shaded sections and exposed areas. Courses are marked with ribbons, signs, and gypsum; specific ribbon colors and turn instructions are used for navigation.
Aid stations are provided on the course, including New York Creek and Fitch Way on the longer routes. Half marathon runners must check in at the New York Creek water stop before returning toward the finish. Drop bag service is not available along the course but drop bags may be left at the finish area; bags should be clearly labeled with name and bib number.
Parking is in the Falcon Crest gravel lot and is free; additional parking is available at nearby lots for a day use fee about 0.4 miles from the start. Portable toilets will be on site and nearby businesses offer restrooms and food options. Online and race day registration options are offered and finishers receive a commemorative medal.
