Folkestone Rotary Half Marathon
The Folkestone Rotary Half Marathon is a road running event held on Sunday 26 September 2027, with start and finish outside The Grand on The Leas in Folkestone. The advertised course distance is 13.1 miles (21.1 km), running from Folkestone to Hythe and back, primarily on promenade terrain that is mostly free of road traffic.
Since 2024 the route has avoided the Road of Remembrance because of landslips; organisers have noted the original route may reopen but the provisional 2027 route still includes a short hill. Route maps are provided for Folkestone, Sandgate, Seabrook and Hythe.
The event is organised by the Rotary Club of Folkestone as the club's main annual fundraising event. It raises money for local good causes; past beneficiaries include a range of local charities and community projects. The 2027 beneficiary is listed as to be announced.
Entries are managed through the event's entry provider and carry specific entry fees for attached and unattached adults and for children; there is a published closing date for entries in 2027 and day-of registrations subject to availability. Headphones are prohibited, with bone conduction devices noted as acceptable.
Race services include chip timing, refreshments, massage and a race shop, with changing facilities to be confirmed. Cash prizes and trophies are awarded across categories, with £100 to both first male and first female finishers; medals are awarded to all finishers.
