Flytrap 5K

The Flytrap 5K is a running event located in Conway, South Carolina. This event serves as the kickoff for the Flytrap Festival 2026. The race is organized in partnership with the Friends of Lewis Ocean Bay and takes place on Solid Waste Authority property to bring awareness to species native to the South Carolina Bays.

The course is set on a 5 km route that consists of a straight dirt road with a circular section that leads back to the finish line. Both the start and finish lines are located at the same point on Environmental Parkway. The race is chip-timed by Simply Timing, and results for age group awards are based on net time.

Participants can choose from the following distance:

  • 5 km

All participants who complete the course receive a custom finisher medal. Additional medals are awarded to the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as the top three finishers in various age divisions ranging from under 15 to over 70. Runners who register before April 15th receive a Flytrap 5K hat.

Parking is available at the start line, with directional signs provided to guide visitors through the property. Packet pick-up is scheduled for the day before the race at the Carolina Forest Recreation Center and on the morning of the event at the race site.
