Flying Colors 5K Fun Run/Walk
The Flying Colors 5K Fun Run/Walk takes place during the Moffat County Hot Air Balloon Festival at Loudy Simpson Park in Craig, Colorado. The course follows trails along the Yampa River and is organized as an untimed, noncompetitive event.
Participants pass through stations where colored powder is applied, and hot air balloons are visible from the course as they rise into the morning sky. Live music plays at the finish area and there are organized photo opportunities. A souvenir t-shirt is available for purchase during registration.
Two distances are offered:
- 5K
- One-Mile Fun Run for children and families
Registration opens March 1, 2026 and closes August 1, 2026. Registration pricing is tiered by age: ages 0–4 are free, ages 5–17 are $10, and ages 18 and older are $30. The event location address is Loudy Simpson Park, 1009 S. Ranney St., Craig, CO 81625, USA.
