Flora-Bama Freedom Run
The Flora-Bama Freedom Run is held on July 4 in Pensacola, Florida, and is presented as the event's 6th annual edition celebrating 250 years of America. The event offers a main distance and a shorter community run, and proceeds benefit the On Point 1-1 Foundation.
Race options include:
- 4 Mile Run/Walk
- 1 Mile Fun Run
Awards are given by age group for both the 4 mile run and the 4 mile walk, with first place recognized for male and female competitors in each age division. Special recognition plaques and sunglasses sponsored by Goodr are awarded to overall male and overall female runners and walkers. The first 500 participants through the finish receive a finisher medal; all 1 mile fun runners are guaranteed a finisher medal. Race shirts are guaranteed for the first 600 registered participants while sizes remain available in registration.
Packet pickup is available the day before the race at the Flora-Bama inside the bar after the gift shop, and also on race day at a tent on site. A post race party in the tent at the Flora-Bama includes live music, a breakfast buffet, and complimentary draft beer or non-alcoholic drinks for those under 21. A 7.5% sales tax is collected on registrations as required by Florida law. Results can be posted automatically on race day for participants who connect their Twitter account.
