Flight of the Heron 5k, 10k, and 1 Mile
Flight of the Heron is a set of running events held on July 18, 2026, at the Mustill Store Museum, 57 West North Street, Akron, Ohio. The races take place as part of the Blue Heron Homecoming and include access to the Water Reclamation Facility, a site that is usually closed to the public. The course is on a paved path and the event is presented as family friendly; strollers are welcome, dogs are not permitted, and children five and under are free.

- 5k (3.1 miles)
- 10k (6.2 miles)
Every registrant receives a medal and a hat while supplies last. After the races there is a Beer Garden presented by Missing Falls Brewery. The Blue Heron Festival also includes lunch provided by The Ice Bucket Food Truck.
