About the race
The Fleetwood Triathlon takes place on Sunday 12th September 2027 at Fleetwood Leisure Centre and the adjacent seafront promenade (FY7 6HF). The event pairs an indoor pool swim with a closed-road cycle circuit and a flat coastal run, with transitions staged in the secure car park hub.
The course layout is described as follows: a 400 m swim in the 25 m heated Fleetwood pool with staggered individual starts; a 20 km bike on a fully closed-road Esplanade circuit completed as four 5 km laps; and a 5 km out-and-back run on the sea wall coastal path. Transition 1 is from the pool to the car park hub and Transition 2 returns athletes from the bike to the run path.
Race timing uses StuWeb chip timing with multi-stage splits for swim, T1, bike, T2 and run. Every finisher receives a commemorative medal, a participant goody bag and free downloadable finisher photos. Junior and youth waves are included, starting from TriStart juniors (age 8) up through youth categories and adult sprint competitors. A British Triathlon day race pass is required if an athlete is not an annual British Triathlon member; the day license is approximately £5–£8.
Spectator viewing points include the swim exit and transition, the Balmoral Terrace turn on the bike circuit, and the Marine Hall finish arena. Street parking is available on Central Drive and Beach Road, with pay-and-display options near Fleetwood town centre a short walk from the promenade.
