Flat Rock Trail Race
The Flat Rock Trail Race takes place in Dunstable, Massachusetts, utilizing the local conservation area and rural land trust properties. The event functions as a benefit for the Humane Society for Greater Nashua, with all proceeds supporting the organization. Participants can choose between two main formats:
- 5 Mile trail run, walk, or hike.
- 6 Hour race where participants complete as many 5-mile loops as they choose.
The course features approximately 600 feet of elevation gain per 5-mile loop. The route begins along the Massachusetts and New Hampshire border and follows the former Nashua, Acton, and Boston railroad bed. Runners traverse a stone Arched Bridge and pass through the former Ferrari farm and a previous granite quarry.
The trail layout includes stretches of New England woods and reaches two specific high points: the former Blanchard Hill Ski Area and the top of Flat Rock Hill. Between these peaks, the course passes an aid station and continues through single track trails located on former farmland. The event is designed to be inclusive, welcoming participants of all abilities and paces. The race starts and finishes at 510 High Street.
