15th Annual Flag Day 5K
The Flag Day 5K is a road race held at Cashman Park in Newburyport, Massachusetts. This event marks its 15th year and features a USATF Certified 5K Run. Participants have the option to compete in person or join a virtual edition of the race.

Registration for the race provides participants with a commemorative race medal and an official event t-shirt. For those attending the in-person event who are 21 years of age or older, a post-race beer is included. The virtual option allows runners to track their progress between June 10th and June 12th and submit their times to a leaderboard; medals and shirts for virtual participants are shipped after the race weekend.
The race serves as a fundraiser for the 1st Lieutenant Derek Hines Soldiers Assistance Fund. This organization provides financial assistance to Massachusetts soldiers and their families who have dealt with serious, career-ending, or life-altering injuries during active duty. The event schedule also includes a speaking program and a post-race party at the park. Packet pick-up is available both on the day before the race and on the afternoon of the event.
