Event overview

The Five Trig Points is scheduled for Saturday 26th September 2026 at the Castleshaw Centre, Waterworks Rd, Delph. The course covers approximately 19 miles with about 3000 ft of ascent. The route follows footpaths and trails, including parts of the Pennine Way, and visits five local trig points around Delph, Saddleworth. The event is run under UKA rules and is licensed with the Trail Running Association and the Fell Running Association.

Course and logistics

The route for recent editions is the reverse of previous years. The course is not marked; participants must navigate themselves to each checkpoint in the correct ascending order (1 to 9). The shown route is a recommended line and runners may choose their own way provided they remain on public rights of way, paths, tracks, or roads. There are three manned checkpoints on the route that provide snacks and drinks, and free soup and hot drinks are available after finishing.

Entry fees are listed as £20 with an additional £2 for unaffiliated runners, and entries on the day cost £25 if the limit has not been reached. Full kit is required, including full waterproofs, map and compass, hat and gloves, spare clothing, and food. There is an option for early starters and walkers.
