Five Alarm 5k & Chili Cook-Off at Bierstadt Lagerhaus, Denver
The event is a brewery-hosted running and food event on October 25, 2026 at Bierstadt Lagerhaus in Denver, presented by the Colorado Brewery Running Series. It combines a 5k fun run with a Chili Cook-Off and on-site festival elements at the brewery.
The run is an untimed, approximately 5-kilometer fun run that starts and ends at the brewery. The course is open to walkers, joggers, and runners and uses an open-course format with roads remaining open to traffic. Course markings include chalk arrows, signage, and event volunteers. Participants must follow traffic laws and local regulations.
The Chili Cook-Off features up to 30 competitor spots, is free to enter, and requires competitors to provide at least a crock-pot size of chili and basic serving equipment. Competitors should bring their own crock-pot, serving spoons, and extension cord and be prepared to serve samples during the event. Prizes are awarded by category, including awards for Red Chili, Green Chili, Veggie Chili, and Best in Show, with brewery-related prizes for winners.
Included with a 5k entry are one free craft brew at the finish, chili tasters, a choice of a collector’s pint glass or seasonal swag, and access to event festivities such as live music, food trucks, and local vendors. Kids under 12 run free. Registered participants under 21 receive a token for a non-alcoholic beverage; a valid ID is required to receive alcohol. Ten percent of registration proceeds support the Retired Firefighters Association of Denver. The event operates rain or shine and there will not be a bag check.
