Five Alarm 5k & Chili Cook-Off - Bierstadt Lagerhaus, Denver
The Five Alarm 5k & Chili Cook-Off takes place on October 25, 2026 at Bierstadt Lagerhaus in Denver, Colorado. The event pairs a roughly 5 kilometer fun run with a chili cook-off and on-site craft beer, with routes that start and end at the brewery.
The run is untimed and described as a 5k-ish open course. Roads will not be closed for the event, so participants are responsible for obeying traffic laws and exercising caution. The route will be marked with chalk arrows and signs, and volunteers will be present to assist with navigation.
The chili cook-off is open to competitors on a first-come, first-serve basis and is free to enter. Competitors are asked to provide at least a crock-pot size of chili, bring their own crock-pot, extension cord, and serving utensils, and to be prepared to serve during the event. Prizes are awarded by category, including Red Chili, Green Chili, Veggie Chili, and Best in Show.
Included with registration are one craft brew at the finish line, tasters from chili competitors, and a choice of a collector’s pint glass or a seasonal swag item. The event offers live music, food trucks, local vendors, merchandise, and door prizes. Kids under 12 run free, and dogs and running strollers are permitted. Ten percent of registration proceeds benefit the Retired Firefighters Association of Denver. There will not be a bag check and the event runs rain or shine.
