Five Alarm 5k & Chili Cook-Off
The Colorado Brewery Running Series presents a brewery-based, untimed 5k fun run that starts and ends at Bierstadt Lagerhaus in Denver, Colorado. The route is designed to show off the surrounding neighborhood and will be marked with chalk arrows, signs, and volunteers. The course is open to walkers, joggers, and runners; roads will not be closed and participants are required to obey traffic laws.
A Chili Cook-Off runs alongside the 5k. Up to 20 competitor spots are available and entry is free. Competitors must provide at least a crock-pot size portion for sampling and bring their own equipment such as an extension cord, serving spoons, and a crock-pot. Prizes are awarded by category, including Best Red Chili, Best Green Chili, Veggie Chili, and Best in Show, with beer and future event entries listed as awards.
Event inclusions noted by the organizer include one craft brew at the finish line, free chili tasters, and a choice of a collector’s pint glass or a seasonal swag item. The event program also lists live music, food trucks, local vendors, event merchandise for sale, and door prizes from sponsors and the host brewery.
Ten percent of registration fees for this event are designated for the Retired Firefighters Association of Denver. The event will proceed rain or shine and there will not be a bag check. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
