Five Alarm 5k & Chili Cook-Off
The Five Alarm 5k & Chili Cook-Off takes place on October 25, 2026 at Bierstadt Lagerhaus in Denver and is organized by the Colorado Brewery Running Series. The event pairs a casual 5k fun run with a chili tasting and brewery festivities.
The run is described as untimed and roughly 5 kilometers. The route begins and ends at the brewery, is an open course with roads remaining open to traffic, and is marked with chalk arrows, signs, and volunteers. Participants must obey traffic laws. A craft brew is provided at the finish for participants aged 21 and over; underage participants receive a token for a nonalcoholic beverage and all drinkers must present a valid ID. Dogs, running strollers, and children are allowed on the course and children under 12 run free. There will not be a bag check and the event is planned to proceed rain or shine.
The Chili Cook-Off runs alongside the 5k. A 5k entry includes a beer and tasters from competing chilies; a chili-only ticket is also available. Chili competitors may enter for free on a first-come basis, must provide a crock-pot sized batch and their own serving equipment, and sample cups and spoons will be provided. Prizes will be awarded in multiple categories. Ten percent of registration proceeds support the Retired Firefighters Association of Denver.
