Event

The Fitzroy Frogs Triathlon - Tannum Sands takes place on 8 February 2026 in Tannum Sands, Australia. The event is organised by the Fitzroy Frogs Triathlon Club. Online registration opens in 2025 and entries will close before race day; no entries are accepted on the day or after the close date.

Race formats and distances

The event offers enticer and sprint options in triathlon, duathlon and aquathlon. Distances are:

  • Aquathlon: 1 km run, 200 m swim, 1 km run.
  • Enticer triathlon: 350 m swim, 9 km ride, 2.5 km run.
  • Enticer duathlon: 2.5 km run, 9 km ride, 2.5 km run.
  • Sprint triathlon: two 350 m swim laps (with a beach run between laps), 20 km ride, 5 km run.
  • Sprint duathlon: 2.5 km run, 20 km ride, 5 km run.

Longer-distance aquathletes may complete the aquathlon course twice, back-to-back.

Age eligibility is set as per TA rules, using age at 31 December 2025: enticer events require competitors born in 2013 or earlier (12 years and older); sprint events require competitors born in 2011 or earlier (14 years and older).

Entry categories and logistics

Individual entry fees are listed as 40.00 AUD per event. Team triathlon entries are listed as 15.00 AUD per team for enticer and sprint distances. Registration options include single and group/team registrations. Transition and registration open before racing and will be strictly controlled; access to Transition after finishing an event will be restricted until it reopens later in the morning at the event director's discretion.

Course markings use red and blue lines; enticer follows the red line, while sprint competitors follow red then divert to the blue line mid-course before returning to red to finish. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
