Fitger's 5K

Fitger's 5K is an annual 5 km road race held in downtown Duluth, Minnesota. The event for 2026 is scheduled for Saturday, April 18 and uses the Fitger's Complex at 600 East Superior Street as the start and finish area. The course passes through newly renovated sections of downtown Duluth.

Registration is limited to a capacity of 1,300 participants and is accepted on a first-come, first-served basis until capacity is reached. Adult entry fees follow a tiered schedule: $25, $35, and $45 depending on registration date ranges. Youth entries ages 18 and under are free for 2026.

Standard race rules prohibit pets, motor vehicles, bicycles, handcycles, hand-cranked wheelchairs, roller skis, inline skates, and unregistered participants on the course. Baby joggers and strollers are allowed but must start in the back of the corral. Pushrim wheelchair competitors, duo teams, and other adaptive athletes are welcome and must follow the event's wheelchair and adaptive program guidance.

Event features include a commemorative finisher medal and a long sleeve participant shirt included with entry. Participants may also purchase commemorative socks or opt to plant a tree instead of receiving a shirt through a partnership with a local tree-seedling program. Sustainability measures listed for the race include reusable cups at aid stations, a shoe collection for recycling, a bike valet near the finish area, age-division awards presented as one-year white spruce saplings, and locally sourced post-race refreshments in recyclable or compostable packaging.
