About the race
The Fitchburg Veterans Council 5K Road Race is the 11th annual event held on September 12, 2026 at Thirsty Robot Brewing Company, 265 Summer Street, Fitchburg, MA 01420. The day includes a community road race and a separate fun walk organized by the Fitchburg Veterans' Council.
The running event is a 3.1 Miles road race. A separate Fitchburg Fun Walk is offered as a walking event. Registration fees are $25.00 for each event. Registration windows are as follows: registration for the 5K opens July 29 and closes August 30; registration for the Fun Walk opens July 31 and closes September 5. Race numbers will be issued at the starting location on the day of the event. T-shirts are included for online registrants who register before September 4.
The Fitchburg Veterans' Council is a nonprofit 501c3 organization. One hundred percent of the profits from the event will go to the Veteran's Relief Fund for Fitchburg and surrounding areas. The organizers note that this event is their biggest fundraiser of the year. The road race is not an official or certified 5K road race.
