About the race
The Fishbein/YMCA Community Road Race is an annual event hosted by the Wallingford Family YMCA in collaboration with Celebrate Wallingford. It takes place in Wallingford, Connecticut on October 4, 2026, at 81 S Elm St. The event continues a community tradition that began almost fifty years ago.
Race options include:
- 5K Run
- Healthy Living 1K Walk
- 1 Mile Youth Race
Registration is online only and opening and closing dates vary by event. General registration opens October 10, 2025; some events show closing dates that extend to race day. Entry fees and notes from the organizer include variable 5K pricing by date ($30 before January 1, $35 from January 1 to October 1, and $40 thereafter), a reduced 5K fee for under 19, a $5 fee for the youth races, and a $10 fee for the walk; LiveSTRONG at the Y participants may enter the walk for free.
Bibs may be collected at an advance packet pickup or on race day. Early bib pickup is scheduled for Friday, October 2. Race shirts are included for the first 200 5K registrants and the first 100 walkers, sizes by availability; shirts may be available for purchase on race day for $10.
Awards will be given to the top three overall male and female 5K finishers and to the top finisher in each 5K age category (1-9, 10-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80+). Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
