Fish Hatchery 5K Trail Run
The Fish Hatchery 5K Trail Run takes place at the historic Leadville National Fish Hatchery in Leadville, Colorado. The event features a cross country style course that traverses the subalpine forest environment. Participants navigate a route that passes near and around the Evergreen Lakes and the lower Rock Creek area.
The terrain for this event consists of a variety of surfaces, including dirt roads, paths, and trails. Registration includes different tiers based on age, with free entry provided for participants aged 17 and under. Bib pickup is organized on the morning of the event at the hatchery location on Highway 300.
Financial proceeds from the event are directed toward supporting local youth athletics and recreation initiatives. Supported programs include local Nordic teams and community events such as Children's Fishing Day.
