First Responders Suicide Prevention 5K
RELIF, a nonprofit organization, in collaboration with Next Step Counseling LLC, organizes the fifth annual First Responders 5K in McDonough, Georgia. The event aligns with National Law Enforcement Suicide Awareness Day and focuses on mental health, physical wellness, and community policing.
The event format includes a 5K run/walk, live entertainment, a mental health fair, and an expert-led group warm up and stretch beforehand, plus space to stretch after the course. All participants receive a Relif swag bag. Timed bibs are available and the course is USATF certified and a Peachtree Road Race qualifier. A virtual option is provided for those who cannot attend in person; virtual participants complete the 5K at a chosen time and location and may submit results and photos via the registration website.
Proceeds support training and counseling for first responders and their families. The event is rain or shine and will convert to a virtual option only if unsafe conditions arise. Registration is non refundable and race day registration accepts cashless payment only. Team discounts apply when three individuals register together. Public parking is available on site and transportation to the event is not provided.
Event rules include mandatory check in with a government issued photo ID that matches the registered name, a prohibition on weapons, allowance of outside water, and no pets except required service animals.
