Event Details
The Calgary First Responders Half Marathon is an annual October event held in support of Calgary's first responder community, including paramedics, firefighters, police officers, and public safety personnel.
Funds raised support mental health initiatives for first responders and their families, benefiting the Canadian Mental Health Association – Alberta Division and the Centre for Suicide Prevention. Charity run options are also available to support Wounded Warriors Canada and OSI-CAN.
Available Distances
Several race distances are offered:
- 21 km (Half Marathon)
- 10 km
- 5 km (FRONTLINE 5KM)
- 1 km (Fun Run)
Team events are available for the 21 km and 10 km distances. These are team races where all four members run together; the team time is calculated from the average of the individual times.
Practical Information
The event takes place at St. Patrick's Island Park West Lookout in Calgary. Online registration closes on Friday, October 16, 2026, at 12:00 pm MST. Entries are non-refundable and non-transferable.
All entry packages include a commemorative cotton casual t-shirt (guaranteed if registered before October 2), a finisher medal, chip timing, post-race snacks, and eligibility for draw prizes. Aid stations with hydration and nutrition are provided on course.
Participants in the half marathon must be 16 years of age, and participants in the 10 km must be 10 years of age by December 31, 2026. Picture ID is required at check-in. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
