Stocking Stuffer Holiday Walk/Run
The Stocking Stuffer Holiday Walk/Run is a 3.2 km community event held at Bowness Park, 8900 48 Ave NW, Calgary, AB on November 29, 2026. Participants carry a provided stocking and collect stocking stuffers placed along the route. The course is not timed.
Event inclusions described by the organizer:
- a stocking and stocking stuffers along the course
- a finisher's medal that can be used as a tree ornament
- an apple fritter from Doughnut Party and hot chocolate
- a post-event atmosphere with music and an announcer
The event is open to all ages. Anyone aged 3 and older on course must be registered; children under 2 do not require registration but will not receive a stocking, stocking items, or post-event food. Children under 12 must remain within an arm's length of a parent or guardian at all times while on course.
Dogs are permitted but should be kept on a short leash because portions of the route use a narrow pathway and there will be many children present.
Package pick up options are listed for the day before and the event day at specified locations, including Bowness Park (picnic site 3). The organizer partners with the Calgary Food Bank and asks participants to bring one or more non-perishable items; acceptable donations include pasta, canned goods, peanut butter, diapers, hygiene items, party supplies, books or pet food.
Registration is tiered by age and date; the organizer states there are no refunds. Before November 1, 2026 registrations may be rolled over to 2027 for a fee, and entries may be transferred to another participant for a fee. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
