Stocking Stuffer Holiday Walk/Run
The Stocking Stuffer Holiday Walk/Run is a festive 3.2 km event at Bowness Park, 8900 48 Ave NW, Calgary, on November 29, 2026. Participants carry a stocking and collect items along the route to fill it.
The event is not timed. Finishers receive a stocking, the collected stocking stuffers, a finisher's medal that can double as a tree ornament, an apple fritter, and hot chocolate. A post-event atmosphere includes music and an announcer.
Entry and age rules: anyone aged 3 and older on course must be registered. Children under 2 do not require registration but will not receive a stocking, stocking items, or post-event food. Children under 12 must remain within an arm's length of a parent or guardian at all times.
Dogs are allowed but must be on a short leash on a narrow section of the route; organizers note the need for caution because of children on course.
Package pick-up is offered on November 28 at Plintz Real Estate and on November 30 at Bowness Park picnic site 3 with specified time windows. There are no refunds; registrations may be rolled over to 2027 for a fee of $25 if done before November 1, 2026, and entries may be transferred to another racer for a fee of $10. The event partners with the Calgary Food Bank and asks participants to bring one or more nonperishable items to donate. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
