Stocking Stuffer Holiday Walk/Run
The event is scheduled for November 29, 2026 at Bowness Park (8900 48 Ave NW, Calgary, AB). It is a festive 3.2 km walk/run where participants carry a stocking and collect small items along the route to fill it.
Participants receive a stocking, stocking stuffers along the course, a finisher's medal that can be used as an ornament, an apple fritter from Doughnut Party and hot chocolate. A post-event atmosphere includes music and an announcer. The event is not timed.
This is an all-ages event. Anyone aged 3 and older on course must be registered. Children under 2 do not require registration but will not receive a stocking, stocking items or post-event food. Children under 12 must remain within an arm's length of a parent or guardian at all times.
Dogs are welcome but must be on a short leash because part of the route uses a narrow pathway with runners in both directions; organizers also note many children may be present. Packet pick up is offered on November 28 at Plintz Real Estate and on November 30 at Bowness Park (picnic site 3).
The event partners with the Calgary Food Bank and requests that participants bring one or more donation items. Suggested donations include pasta, rice, cereal, canned goods, peanut butter, baby items, hygiene products, birthday party supplies and pet food.
