First Avenue Mile
The First Avenue Mile is a community road race held on First Avenue in Hibbing, Minnesota on July 10, 2026. The event is a single race distance of 1 mile that places emphasis on local participation and neighborhood atmosphere. The course is described as being lined with cheering neighbors and live music, creating a communal environment along the route.
Participants must register online. Registration fees change by registration window: $15 early bird (May 1 to June 12), $20 regular (June 13 to July 9), and $25 late registration (July 10). T-shirts are guaranteed for the first 250 registrants. Bib pick-up is provided on site before the race to collect race numbers.
Racers will self-seed on race day and all finish times will be combined across start waves. Awards are given to the top finishers for male and female categories, places 1 to 3, within the following age groups: 0-13, 14-24, 25-34, 35-44, 45-54, and 55 and up. All finishers receive a First Avenue Mile keychain and refreshments at the finish.
