Event overview
The 2026 Fireworks 5k & 10k takes place on July 4, 2026, at Burke Lake Park in Fairfax Station, VA (7315 Ox Rd). Distances offered are:

- 10k
Points from this event count toward the Year-Long 5k, 10k, and Back of the Pack Series, and toward the Summer Series. A virtual race option is available. The event benefits Semper Fi & America’s Fund. Registered runners receive a finisher’s medal, a technical (Dri-Fit) event shirt, and chip timing. T-shirts are guaranteed for runners registered before June 24.
Course, logistics and services
The course is a combination of paved road and trail; the first and last half mile of each race is on paved road. The trail section has some roots but is described as fairly well maintained with no major elevation gains. Water stations: the 10k has three stations at about miles 0.5, 3.1, and 5.7; the 5k has two stations at about miles 0.5 and 2.6. Gatorade will be available at some water stations. Restrooms are located by the ice cream parlor. Packet pickup is available at the event and race day registration is provided. Live results will be posted online; a QR code at the race will link to immediate results. Awards are given to the top three men and women overall and to first and second place by age group; overall top-three finishers are not eligible for age-group awards.
